- April 1 – Crescent Moon pairs with Pleiades
- Also – try to spot -1.4 magnitude Sirius before sunset and you can try and follow Vega into the daytime sky this week
- April 5 – First quarter Moon / Mars pairs with Moon
- April 10 – Wargentin Pancake visible on moon.
- Located on the southwest side of Schickard.
- Part of the Phocylides group
- Wargentin’s floor is raised considerably above the surrounding region, resembling a shallow, upside-down oval dish.

- April 13 – Full Moon – Smallest in 2025 / Spica Occultation for Central and S. Americas
- April 16th – Moon and Antares – Occultation (not here) but for Africa and parts of Australia but for those in western NA we have a consolation prize as Phi Sco is occulted by Moon just before 2am CDT and reappears just after 3:15am CDT
- April 21 – Last Quarter Moon
- Zodiacal Light visible
- Mercury at Greatest Elongation 27-degrees from Sun in Morning Sky .. not super well placed
- April 22 – Lyrid Meteor Shower Peaks
- Form Comet comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher
- Best on the 21/22 but lasts almost a couple weeks, 15th to 29th.
- 10-15 meteors per hour
- Best in early dawn hours when Lyra is nice and high
- April 25 – Venus, Moon, Saturn and Mercury pair in morning sky
- April 27 – New Moon
- Venus at greatest illumination extent in morning sky
- April 28th – Gegenschein Visible high in S tonight
- SS Virginis – Carbon star well placed
